Anybody care to throw out their offensive and defensive Break-Out Bucks for 09?

I'd love to see Small become the complete player and have a big year. On defense I'd like to see any of our DTs have a great year and get about 8 sacks but I think it will be Spitler suprising some people.

IMO the reality of opportunities for each and every player...is what i "love to see".
That any number of individuals are given deep and wide opportunities which include various means to fulfill and count them...is an abundance so far beyond "who's the one to breakout", so much greater than "one and done" it ... is difficult for me to understand, let alone appreciate.
Even the practical constraints of men, i.e. to the degree JT micromanages his offense and is a prisoner of his preferences, STILL there is abundant opportunity in each day, each play, each circumstance...even when an opponent is doing his best to do to you, what you are trying to do to him.
ain't competition...football...grand? FAR, FAR better than our 'pick ones' and 'counts' and poles....

On offense, not everyone will agree that he qualifies as a breakout player, but I think it's Prior. His highlight film from last year looks great but we all know how inconsistent he was as a passer. I think he ratchets it up a notch.
Offensive honorable mentions: Boom Heron and Devier Posey.
Defense. I'll go with three in no particular order:
Torence
Goebel
Spitler

Taurian Washington and Sol Thomas. Washington had a great spring. He showed alot of maturity and a work ethic to come back from being so far down the depth chart. I think he had worked himself into the mix anyway but with Smalls status up in the air I think he could be a kid we are all real proud of by the end of November. Sol Thomas could develop into the every down guy at the weakside end. He is a bigger kid than Gibson and quicker and more athletic than Williams.

On offense I'm going to say JB Shugarts. I think he brings that nastiness we've needed. Boren we already know does that and he's already broken out. Along with Brewster. But Shugarts hasn't had his chance to shine yet. I think it happens this season.
Also agree with Gforce about Pryor.
On defense I'm going to say, Rolle. I think he will come out there and show America what we've been saying for a while. I also think Spitler could have a Matt Wilhelm type season.

I'm kind of expecting teams to try and take advantage of the secondary early this year, so I'm hoping someone emerges at the corner.
There seems to be a lot of questions at WR now with all the Small rumors. The one constant is that Posey will definitely be in there. Hopefully we see a real breakout year from him. I'm holding out a lot of hope that Mike Adams steps up and really becomes the anchor we all hope to see.

Offense breakout:
1) Saine - Going to cross my fingers and say that Saine will stay healthy and contribute quite a bit...
2) Ballard - I think that Pryor & the staff are going to be make a conscious effort throwing to the TE (I know, I know, wishful thinking)
Who I want to see breakout: Lamar Thomas & James Jackson - love the speed.
Defensive breakout:
1) Rolle - agree with Playmea - he's a playmaker...
2) Spitler / Sabino
I'd love to see our CBs start shutting things down.

I am going to agree with Chibucks on Saine as my offensive choice. I loved what I saw of him this spring and if he can stay healthy (which might be hard with his running style) I think he has a chance to create some big plays. Remember in the LSU game the staff went out of their way to make a package for him. Now he knows the offense and looks like a player with the proverbial chip on his shoulder. I love it when talented players feel like they have something to prove.
Defensively I think Ross Homan becomes the next stud linebacker here. He seems like he just needs reps and now that he will get those and seems to be back from his injuries I can see a big year for him. I love the way he plays the game and I think he will benefit form what looks to be a very good defensive line in front of him.

If we are in odd man on the defensive line, Doug Worthington has a chance to have a breakout season. He would be a natural for one of the end spots.

Mike Adams. If the spring game was any indication, he came a long way since the beginning of spring. If he can continue to improve, he should show why he was the #1 OL prospect in the country.
Brian Rolle. I think he earns a starting job and gives us a heat seeking missile on defense.
Thad Gibson. If we use him like we used him against Texas, he will top 10 sacks and could challenge Gholston's record.
Dexter Larimore. I think he'll be a great run defender.
I wanted to choose more. I think there are a lot of players ready to step up(Pryor, Sanzo, Boom, Posey, Browning, Spitler, etc.)

On defense I am going with Tyler Moeller. He just looks so much more natural playing on the edge...
On offense, I'm going with marksgforce...Pryor looked so much more improved as a quarterback in the spring...
