Lets start with the Glenville foursome of Aundray Walker, Shane Wynn, Cardale Jones and Andre Sturdivant. The biggest speculation is about Walker and Jones. The reasons for all the buzz are completely different. Jones has had a really good year. It was key that he continue to get better. A player that is behind in his development needs to steadily get better. The consensus is Jones has done that. On the field anyway and there is the rub. Jones is going to have to come up with the kind of test score that is likely going to be red flagged based on no comments
1 - Greg McMullen, Akron Hoban. I saw a half of a game early in the year and it just reminded me of something Mark and I talked about all off season. What is this kid going to do when he has two healthy hands? I saw it in this half of football. He was an absolute menace. He was making plays and when he wasn't he was still being disruptive. When I first started looking at the class of 2012 McMullen topped the list. He is back at the top of the list. At least amongst defensive linemen.
2 - Adolphus Washington, Cincinnati Taft. He is still the freakiest looking athlete out there. no comments
Last week I did a blog about whether the Buckeyes could have won the national championship as beat up as we are. I threw out a few ideas about making another run next year. The one that kept coming back to me was the possibility of the most potent offense we have seen in some time. I put some more thought into that since I made that post.
The offense will return eight starters including three offensive linemen, not to mention the return of Marcus Hall. Pryor will be back. I do not think there will be much discussion about him going early. He is so much improved but any thought of him going early means he will not have a good pro career. He is still not ready. Pryor has been wise in his decisions from choosing this style of offense over the read option, an offense that would have played to the skills he had no comments
The trend in recruiting these days has made the senior year offer a rare thing. How many offers have we seen from the Buckeyes in the last five years or so to a senior once the season starts? How many of them have only been because the player was not qualifed when the season began? The number of players who are pure offers, meaning they got an offer just because of senior year performance, might as well be dubbed "unicorns" because they are so rare. I see one this year.
The excitement has been building every week as this player left people dazzled with his no comments
We are all still suffering from the Wisconsin loss hangover. We are still talking about it. The off week does not help. The lack of a game to distract us from our misery is not there this week. We felt like we were going to win the national championship. I know I did. I still think that this team at its best is one of the two or three best teams in the country. I have some sobering news for you. I think it will help you come to terms with the loss. We are not at our best and we are not going to be.
We weren't going to make it, Buckeye fans. We were going to lose a game. We are too beat up to win a national championship. Losing early puts us in position to finish the season with a better bowl by winning out. We move back up the rankings and put ourselves into a position to play in a BCS game against an opponent that we can beat. We were not going to beat an no comments
Speaking of defense, this one looked like it got its swagger back. It slapped Minnesota in the mouth on every play. It was a dominating performance by the defensive line with John Simon having his best game as a Buckeye. I was thinking that even before his touchdown run. He was getting penetration consistently and just reeked havoc all game. Nathan Williams found his mojo again. He was very active and involved. I thought he played a very disciplined game, something that has caused him problems at times in his career. If you watch the game again no comments
Kindric Link, 6-1, 170, CB, Piqua. I am absolutely amazed that this kids name is not out there. He is the best corner in the state and I think he is odds on to be a Big Four kid. Great looking body to fill out. Ball skills are top drawer. Watch him in his backpedal and then how he breaks on the ball once he finds it. Great looking prospect. I can't believe he does not have some offers yet. This is sophmore tape. I am very much looking forward to seeing his no comments
I was running around the internet recently and came across something that I had completely forgotten about.
Back when I was a kid I had a Sports Illustrated subscription. I knew a number of guys that had one. We used to cut out the pictures and paste them on our walls. That all changed one day when I was forced to go shopping with my Mother.
I did not actually shop with her. I moped and complained mostly. I did not want to be there. Like most males I lack the shopping gene. Walk in the store, buy what I want and leave. One shopping trip my Mother had enough of me. She gave me leave to go do what I wanted to do but I had to be back in an hour. That was when I realized that I was only forced to come no comments
Look at the numbers:
Pryor is 134 out of 203, a 66% completion percentage, for 1775 yards, and 18 touchdowns with 6 interceptions. His quarterback rating is 162.81
Newton is 90 out of 138, 65.6 completion percentage, for 1364 yards, and 13 touchdowns with 5 interceptions. His quarterback rating is 172.08
Newton has only thrown more than 19 times in a game twice, he has 2 games of 21 attempts. Pryor threw 16 passes versus Illinois. His next lowest game is 25 attempts versus Marshall.

Just when I was ready to put the Wisconsin loss behind me the Buckeyes jump out with a win like this. Where was this team last week? We didn't need to be this good against a poor Purdue team. We could have played like we did last week and still won comfortably and this team we saw versus Purdue would have won comfortably against Wisconsin last week.
This was an old fashioned beat down. The score does not really show how baly the Buckeyes smacked around Purdue. 49-0 is pretty ugly. 42-0 at the half is where you see just how bad Purdue got kicked around.
I loved coming out and just pounding it at them. I think it sets a tone, especially coming off of a loss. Every touch makes it seem like Herron is making the position his. I like all those no comments
