Another great weekend of watching high school football.

First, Glenville. My pecking order for Glenvilles top players is completely upside down. I loved what I saw from Cardale Jones. He looks so much more accurate. I think he is making it very hard for the staff to say no if he gets his grades squared away. He is not getting a lot of help. Dropped balls and some horrid pass protection are hurting him. Shane Wynn scored on a kickoff return but dropped a beautifully thrown ball that would have been one of the plays of the game. Jones gets out of trouble rolls right, throws a strike that would have converted a third and fourteen and could have maybe turned into a score should Wynn have been able to turn it up after the catch but first he needed to catch the ball. He did not have another catch that I am aware of.

Aundray Walker looked trimmer but it did not help. His offer list continues to make me believe it is all about establishing ties with the Glenville program, and maintaining them for Ohio State. Notice that he is playing guard for Glenville. Marcus Hall played tackle at Glenville. So did Bryant Browning. Obviously Sr puts his best linemen at tackle. Walker can't play tackle at Glenville but he can play tackle at Ohio State? He also took another personal foul penalty. That has happened in every game I have seen him play.

If Vegas would let me bet that Andre Sturdivant will be in on half of Glenvilles tackles I would sell everything I own and make that bet. The kid is just everywhere. The announcers were giving other kids credit for plays where Sturdivant was the last guy off the pile. He has instincts and a motor that will not quit. Sturdivant is why we talk about frame. He has added at least twenty pounds but the kid still has guns. Mark Porter has seen him up close. He says he is even more impressive in person. I loved that he was injured but needed to be forced off the field then came back on but needed to stand with all his weight on one leg between plays. That is a warrior. He must be a Buckeye.

How could you not be impressed with Steve Miller this weekend. He was very much an impact player. Tackles for loss, blocked a kick and was all around a very disruptive player. The thing is, if you did not know who was who you may have thought Se'Von Pittman was Steve Miller. He had a great game. He is still such a raw player but you can see some things are starting to come more naturally to him and he always played hard. No junior improved his stock more on my board with the exception of Brionte Dunn.

I have had more discussion about Dunn than any 2012 kid this offseason. That is because of a film I was able to see that left me wondering if had come be a top back on the next level. Mark Porter and I watched it over and over again. We just accepted this was a very big kid who had outgrown the position. It happens all the time. Then we got smacked upside the head by the news of a shocking forty time at a combine. Soon after Ray Jaske from ESPN 990 told me about a track meet where he saw this big sucker nearly beat the very fast Devin Smith in a leg of the 4x100. Dunn outweighs him by about thirty pounds. It just did not jive with what I saw on the film which showed a player not capable of running like this. Last week I saw a film that showed more the freshman Brionte Dunn. I just saw every carry from his outstanding performance. To say I was impressed was an understatement. I was so impressed that I would forget about the outstanding out of state prospects looking this way and offer him right now as a rinning back. Mark and I always wondered about that tape. The one that threw us off. You can see special effects added to his teammate DeShawn Halls film, slow motion in particular. In an effort to show the little details on Dunns film I wonder if there might have been some effects added that impacted the overall quality of the film? I don't know. All I know is there is now a change in my pecking order at running back and I am also going to bring the question back of who is the best back in the class? Dunn impressed me that much.

Cole Stoudt needs to put this weekends game behind him and move forward. One of the things that impressed me so much was his accuracy. It was sorely lacking in this game. Everyone has bad games. He needs to accept that and move on. I hate that he had that kind of game on national television.

Brad Carrico has the potential to be a really good offensive tackle.

I thought Ray Ball showed well. I was not so impressed coming off his junior year but offensive lineman bloom late and I think he could be a player in time. Definitely better than last year.

I did not watch Jacoby Boren on every play but I did see him make some plays and I saw him double-teamed a good bit of the time.

He has a sophmore teammate named Taco Charlton who is 6-7 240 and looks like he could be one fine prospect in a couple of years. He is a very athletic kid.
