I have not been getting to some questions. I like to answer every question asked of me. I am going to address some of the recent questions I found on several threads.
In the post on the super safety pair of Trotwood-Madison Bam Bradley and Glen Oak's DeShawn Hall, Jacob2315 asked, "Think they will start over Jeremy Cash?"
I have a very high opinion of Jeremy Cash. I have a very high opinion of Jamie Wood. I have a very high opinion of C.J. Barnett. That I would make the statement that Bradley and Hall could come in and start right away speaks volumes about what kind of talents they are. I think they could very easily come in here as true freshman starters. Those talented players currently on the roster will have to be as good as advertised to keep these two from coming in and forcing the veterans to the bench.
In the same thread buck_i79 asked this question:
<<< Do you think there's any concern over the fact that the last two recruits from Canton GlenOak have left somewhat disgruntled? Brian Hartline and Kosta Koufos (and his mom and coach too). I know Dustin Fox was from there too, but he graduated 7 years ago.
I don't mean concerns about the kids themselves, I mean concerns in that the coaches and administrators at the school might not be high on OSU.<<<
I don't put any stock into that. Players are individuals and the coaches are different. The current coach at Glen Oak was not Hartlines coach. Koufos was always about Kosta. He was never a Buckeye in my mind. He only came here because of the new NBA rule. That a coach would ask him to play a team game was always going to be a problem for him. It had nothing to do with Glen Oak.
Gabby asked this great question in the same thread:
<<<If you could pick 1 GlenOak kid who would it be: DeShawn Hall or Brionte Dunn. I ran into Coach Gracia and asked him that very question and he had an interesting response but since it was off the record I will not post it.<<<
My love of big backs is well documented. That is why my answer will surprise. I love Hall. I would take Hall. There is a wait and see attitude about Dunn. First, he is not in Warren Balls class. Warren Ball is the best back in the class of 2012, not Dunn. For those of us who have seens Dunns sophmore tape there is a question about him. He does not look at fast or as elusive or explosive as he did as a freshman, but his track times tell a different story. He is eating up the track. I still see a four-star back but I want to see his junior film before I move him back up to five-star. It is hard to argue with the clock but it is also hard to deny what I see on film.
Dvo45 asked:
<<< What do you think of this Price kid from PA??<<<
I have not seen Ejuan Price, a linebacker from Woodlands Hills, PA. I can only go on what is out there and that is an offer list. Iowa is his next best offer. I see a 6-0 235-240 lb kid. That kind of size makes me wonder about where his body is going to take him. He could be a tweener. I don't like the odds of him growing into a 260-270 lb kid that really doesn't have a position. He could be a great hole plugger but we are seeing that valued less because of the way the game is played these days. Brian Rolle is definitely undersized to be a Mike 'backer but his ability to play in space and cover, plus run and hit are what we are going to see more of in the future. Brian Urlacher is the model for the linebacker of the future. You don't want to give up the size if you don't have to but in the end Mikes are going to be asked to cover more. Urlacher is pretty unique. Most are going to have to compromise and use smaller Mike linebackers. If this 6-0 240 lb kid can cover, my answer to your question is, why did we wait so long to offer.
Loosebelt12 asked this question in the thread about the 2012 class:
<<<Duane, you mentioned that the running back position could be deep. Do they have higher college ceilings than Erick Howard, and if so, why would we take him instead of a younger back?<<<
Easy answer. Much higher. I was never high on Howard. I see a very determined runner with outstanding balance. He is strong. I never saw an Ohio State caliber back. I want to point out to fans that there has been nothing confirmed about information coming out about Howard. Everything we are hearing is coming from him. I can think of five or six backs that I would rate higher than Howard in the class of 2012.
