The Buckeyes offered another DT in the last 24 hours. Kevin McReynolds from D.C. was offered. He is 6-2 280. That is another kid who is not ideal sized for a DT who has an offer, or that is on the Buckeyes radar. Another kid with questionable DT size is on campus for junior day. Kevin Williams from Springfield Holland is down today. He has an offer list that includes Michigan, Michigan State, Boston College and Nebraska. He thinks he is going to get an offer. I know you are thinking the same thing I am thinking. Why are we looking at all these undersized bigs?

There is not a lot of tape out there of national kids yet and looking at the names that are popping up out there leads me to speculate that this could be a year with even fewer 6-4 to
6-6 big framed athletic bigs than usual. When more film gets out there we might get a better perspective on our offers. The best I have seen so far this year is Derrick Mitchell who is already committed to Florida State, and Anthony Johnson from Louisiana who is already committed to LSU.  Of the great bigs I have seen so far only Devonte Brown from North Carolina and Marquis Anderson remain uncommitted. One of the best I have seen is Desmond Jackson. He is already committed to Texas. 6-1 280. Even USC has a verbal from a 6-1 280 kid. Looking at the big picture has some of these DTs I was not excited about like Kevin Williams and Indianpolis DT Kris Harley moving up my board. Can't recruit elite bigs if there aren't any. Can't not take bigs either. We are going with what is out there. They got game. Every one of them can ball. Fans like to run with what they see on tape, then point to exceptions to the rule in support of their position on a player that does not fit what the big schools are looking for. This is the year to do that at DT. The bodies are not there. You have to go with the tape.

Something to keep in mind. The Buckeyes have built the best lines of the Tressel era with players who were not ideal sized. Another thing. The national picture makes getting a player like Kris Farris onboard ASAP. He is going to become a national target. Recent offers say it has already started.
