The coach debate rages on, especially after JTs press conference but I want to stick with recruiting today. I got this question from Ron Krumm:

Ok Duane, we now have 13 commitments for 2010. We will leave room for Henderson, Hicks, Joyner, James. That makes 17. Shaw, Bryant, Hankins makes 20. Is this who we are closing with? As much as (I would like to get Linder, I don't see it happening. If Hyde comes back in, that cuts out one more. What's your take on it.

I count 12 because I have little faith that Turner is going to make it. We have an extra because of Mobley so we are now at 18 for sure but that could be 17 if Hyde is getting his
job done. I think we hold scholarships for Henderson, Hicks and Joyner/Shaw. I would love to get both. I don't know if we can. I don't know if they would hold one for both. Lets say 15 there. Christian Bryant is a for sure hold. Great player at a need position from a pipeline school. If there is any sure thing in recruiting this year it is Bryant to the Buckeyes. Now we have 16. I don't know about Hankins. That he sounds so enthusiastic but has not verballed makes me wonder what may be going in there. Is he just saying what he thinks the reporter wants him to say or have the Buckeyes backed off? I have not heard whether he made it here for the game. If he didn't, I say he is not going to be a Buckeye. I think we take Hyde. Look at our RBs. Nothing to get excited about right now. I said I thought he would win the starting job. He was at least going to be the short yardage back. We have seen solid RB play but not a bell cow out of Herron and Saine. You forgot Hagerup. He had a great visit. I think we take him. The wildcard is Latwan Anderson. It is looking more and more like he was offered. He was gung ho about the Buckeyes early on. When the offer did not come some bitterness came out of him. If he gets over that he is odds-on to be a Buckeye too. That changes the game.
Bottom line is I think we see a couple of names that are not currently on the board. I sense another re-set.
We have a new offer for 2011 and it completely baffles me. The Buckeyes offered Shane Wynn from Glenville. He is a small kid at about 5-7 or 5-8 and 140-145 lbs. He does not have the frame to get much bigger. He is a very skilled player so I am not going to say it is a bad offer but I will say it way too early. Need to see where that body goes.
We also offered Florida athlete Jeremy Cash. He is a great looking kid that plays what looks like the Star position. The buzz is the Buckeyes are in good shape with him.
