I can see the anticipation for the USC game building with fans. I think Saturday nights game is vitally important to the now, arguably the most important game in the Tressel era, but it is just as vitally important to the future. That is the aspect that is getting overlooked a bit. We are talking about the visit list but with the importance of the game, and the scholarship limits, the visit list is not getting alot of attention. I am not talking about the 2010 kids. The importance of the 2011 kids is getting overlooked. It is as impressive a list of juniors as I can ever remember.
Instate we will see verbal Kenny Hayes as well as recently offered Braxton Miller, Steve Miller, Chris Rock, Doran Grant and Trey DePriest. Those are all top ten instate kids for next year. As impressive as that list is the top instate kids coming in for the game is something you might expect. What makes this such an impressive list is the out of state talents. Landon Turner is going to be a national top ten offensive lineman. If James Vaughters is not a top five linebacker then it is a massively great linebacker class in 2011. He reminds me alot of Jamel Turner. Pennsylvanias Ben Koyack will be here. He is going to be a national top ten tight end and maybe top five. Safety Jeremy Cash from Florida is going to be one of the elite athletes in the class of 2011. He camped here and was as impressed with Ohio State as he was impressive to to the Buckeye staff. A player coming all the way from Florida just to camp says something about interest. Another instate kid that I am glad to see coming in for the game is Ron Tanner from Eastmoor Academy. He reminds me of another recent Eastmoor alum, Isaiah Pead. Good to see the Buckeyes have noticed him.
Considering how little room we have in the class of 2010 the 2011 players are really more important. I would make sure Kenny Hayes gets plenty of congratulatory visits from already committed 2010 players. I can confirm that at least five will be in attendance.
One 2010 player I was happy to see on the visit list is Skyler Schofner. Very happy to see we are staying in touch and he is still interested enough to listen. I want to see the staff play particular attention to James Louis. I really want him in this class. Shoring up his commitment should be a priority.
