I think the odds of Latwan Anderson being offered are dropping like a just shot duck, and it is his fault. This staff puts character up higher on the priority list than others do. I think all staffs want high character kids. I think they all want the kids they recruit to have good character. I just don't think too many go out and make a decision based on character. This staff does. I don't know Latwan Anderson. Never spoke to him. I have spoken to people who are in the know and I have yet to speak to anyone that believes he is a Tressel type of kid. I was watching a video of him recently. There is no question this is an Ohio State caliber athlete in the film. Fast, very athletic, great looking body, high skill level and great instincts. His read-react-run is elite caliber. The one thing that stands out, the thing I think is holding him back from an offer, is what happens all but a few plays in the 7 on 7 drills in the Rivals.com film. The Buckeyes keep recruiting safeties. They also keep passing on Anderson. I have been talking about Tyler Brause for some time. Apparently the Buckeyes have invited the wannabe quarterback back to camp as a tight end. I see a Jake Stoneburner type H-Back. One of the biggest pieces of news is Michael Dennis being brought back again. I did something on him not too long ago. He is a very athletic big kid who looks best as a defensive lineman right now. That has to mean something that he is being brought back. He is as versatile a big as there is this year. I am trying not to get excited about what is happening at defensive tackle. It looked like an offer to Jibreel Black was imminent. I love the current offer list. Garrison Smith and Fre'Shad Hunter are national guys in any year. I love Jon Hankins. Most are recruiting Laken Tomlinson as a guard. You aren't going to find many kids who do not prefer to play defensive tackle over guard and that is where the Buckeyes are recruiting Tomlinson. I would love to see some film of him. What has me excited is, does the lack of an offer tell us anything about where we stand with these other tackles? It could be a matter of the staff deciding Black was not an Ohio State caliber kid but it is just as possible that they like where we are with some of these better prospects. Lots of juniors in with this group including several future superstars. I told you about Donovan Clark from Finneytown. He is a DT/OT who has star written all over him. He is here. Another kid is a sure national top 10 safety from Florida named Jeremy Cash. That is huge for a junior from Florida to come here for camp.
