Seantrel Henderson has decided on his 5 visits. Not the dates for all 5 schools, just the schools. Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Florida. Ohio State, USC, and Notre Dame are set. In addition to seeing USC, Henderson is seeing Notre Dame as well as Ohio State when they play USC. I don't know about you but that is like drawing Big Slick pre-flop in Texas Hold'em for the Trojans. Bill Kurelic is reporting a top receiver from Florida is visiting for that game despite the fact that he is a heavy favorite for one of the homestate Florida schools. Nobody believes that Chaz Green is leaving the state but he is coming up for a visit during the USC game. I could go on citing other players who we really do not look good for. Some players who have publicly stated a favorite. We are still bringing them in. I have a box full of e-mails asking me why the staff is doing this. Why are we letting these kids "play us" like this. The answer is very simple. To get them on campus. We may be behind with them. We may be an afterthought with some. The coaching staff could not care less. Ohio State has such tradition and such impressive facilities that all we want is a chance to show it to them. So many of these kids know little about Ohio State beyond seeing them on television maybe a couple of times a year. Mr. Bucknuts passed something on to me one time that he had heard. A guy was asked, "What would you do if you won a million dollars?" The guy responded, "First, get the million dollars." You can't ask the girl out until you get her number. You can't worry about whether she will say yes or no until you get her on the phone. All the staff cares about is getting them here and have a chance to impress them. We never go over the official visit maximum of 55. I see no reason to sit on them. What if we just change the mind of one kid? We have done it before. Before you get out your depth chart I will point one out, Etienne Sabino. National top 50 player. One of the top 2 or 3 linebackers in the country his senior year. It was easier to name the schools he did not have an offer from than the ones he did have. He was not a player we were talking about a lot. If he leaves the state he will go to USC. That was the thinking. We got him here, he was blown away, he committed a couple of weeks later. I would say the same with Keith Wells. Nobody thought we had a shot. Got him on campus and closed the deal. What if just one of these kids who we think we are just providing free tickets to for one of the ten biggest games on the college football calender changes their mind? That is all the staff wants. All they are asking for is a shot. It begins with the visit. Al Davis said, "Just win, baby." Fans should say, "Just get him on campus, baby."

Do you remember a few weeks ago when you and I disagreed on recruiting the top fifty players. That is about what we have ended up doing. This post is further proof that OSU is trying to recruit the best players, no matter how good or bad a chance that we will get them to commit.
